Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri Reunite ... on New Album

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri’s long-term romance came to an end last year, but the duo will put their personal differences aside to make sweet music for Janet’s upcoming 2010 album.

Producer and songwriter Bryan-Michael Cox told RapUp.com that he will join Dupri to complete work on the LP, which has been in production for a few months now. "It’s going to be hot," Cox said. "That’s all I can say so far."

The new project will be Janet’s 11th studio album, a follow up to her 2008 release ’Discipline.’ The singer has spent time in the studio working on the album with producers Kendrick ’WyldCard’ Dean and Rodney "Darkchild" Jenkins. In October, Jenkins told MTV that fans should expect an emotionally-driven album from the songstress, in light of recent changes in her life.

"You gotta understand, she lost her brother. She was in a relationship for seven years that’s over now. There’s things that she told me that I didn’t even realize," Jenkins said. "You know, certain [things] like self-esteem that I didn’t even realize that she dealt with for years that you know ... She’s working on her book and she’ll deal with that in her book, but also in songs, certain songs we’re dealing with that head on."

Janet took a break from working on the album this week to add her vocals to the celebrity-studded remake of Michael Jackson’s song ’We Are the World.’ She was commissioned to sing her brother’s lyrics under the direction of Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie. In addition to her musical endeavors, Janet will also appear in the upcoming Tyler Perry film ’Why Did I Get Married Too?’ which hit theaters on April 2. There is no official title or release date for her upcoming album as yet.
